Default Alpha 40 leaking fuel

i have a almost new Alpha 40 with evolution training system engine.I hung it up in my garage and ive notice fuel is leaking behind the prop or directly in front of engine.Is This normal or have i got a seal out? Also if it needs repaired is a big process?

It sounds like you did not prepare the plane for storage.

Usually all the fuel is removed, and a few drops of after run oil is added.


What you are seeing is excess fuel leaking past the front bearing seal.

These seals are purposely porous to permit oil to infiltrate the bearings.

It is not a good idea to leave glow fuel in an engine, as this may rust the bearings given glow fuel's hydroscopic nature.
