Captin.
CMP discontinued that Giles.
I've asked a few people if they had one but so far no luck.
I'd recommend you post a "wanted" ad here too. You never know.

Has anyone tried an RCG26 with this plane? I would like to see a close-up of the firewall, because the pre drilled holes doesn't seem to fit the ones from the engine.
Any upgrades while building? I think I am about to start the building.

Don't worry about the pre-drilled holes.
Get some dowels. Cut plugs as close as you can to the thickness of the firewall and glue them in with epoxy.
Make absolutely sure the back side of the plug lies flat with the firewall's back as you will not be able to cut it down after the fact.
Once dry grind the front down until the plugs are smooth with the firewall.
Now drill new holes as needed.
BTW: I'm using a 26cc engine with this plane.
I believe it's a SV 26cc if I recall correctly, and is not a higher power 26cc.
While the plane flies very well, in retrospect I wish I had gone with a 30cc instead.

Selling a BRAND NEW in the box CMP Pro Marathonplane. I have one of these planes and installed a DLE-30. Will be listing elsewhere eventually. Price at Nitro is $187.20 and if you ordered (currently out of stock) from Nitro it would cost you about $25-30 in shipping. Local Pick up only, I can deliver to the Toledo RC show in April. Must be paid in full prior. My Price is $170. Thanks.

I’m finishing my marathón, with some Little modifications on the engine (rcg26), I changed the cylinder head and added a HPI baja tuned pipe… I’ll let you know how it goes in the sky

Why did you change the cylinder on the RCG 26? I noticed it does not have the angle plug. Maiden yet?

I didn’t change it, I modified it.
As at BDC the piston did not open completely the exhaust port I had to install an extra gasket in the base of the cylinder, but that will cause a reduction in compression ratio, so finally I decided to design a new combustion chamber with better design compared with the one it had before.<o></o>

I had almost forgotten about this thread... I DID buy the Marathon from Steam28 above, picked it up at Toledo.
I dropped a DLE 30 into it and this is becoming one of my ALL Time favorite airframes..
(close behind the Sukhoi 26 and Yak 54)
ridiculous vertical at half throttle.. yet floats like a trainer when you want it to.

Hi Marathon guys...
I have been eyeing the Marathon for about 14 years now - and decided to purchase the last one available in South Africa from the Supplier. It was at first intended as stock for my Hobby Shop - but when it arrived yesterday ... I decided it was time I should become the proud owner of one of these.
I will be using a Super Tigre 2300 (3.7hp @ 12600). The engine & muffler (brand new by the way) fits inside the cowl and power should be ample.
I can't wait to get started with this little beauty.
Quick question ...
Is the Marathon loosely based on an Extra 330 or 300L maybe? I have tried to see if I could find a full scale Marathon but such does not exist. So I though it might be a derivative of ons of the Extra models?
Regards all & happy landings.
