Difference between OS E-3020 and E-3070 Silencer
I'm getting my engines together for the upcoming season. The manuals for both my 46AX and 55AX both show the E-3010 as the stock muffler with the OS Engine (not listed on the TH website).
In my engine stash, the PowerBox that I see is a E-3020 (don't ask where the second muffler is, I'm still looking for it )
To add to the confusion, I was surfing around on TH and they show that the E-3070 is the muffler of choice for the 46AX and the 55AX. I'm soooo confused
In the grand scheme of things, this is small potatos, I know. But I sure would like to sort this one out.
1. What are the differences between the 3020 and the 3070, i.e., does the 3070 give a little more 'oomph'? Is it noticable?
2. Is my assumption correct that the 3020 can also run on both engines?
Anything else that you can add would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Likely, there are differences in the casting. The E3020 was also used on the .25-size engine, so the E3070 may be a bit larger, or the shape may be a bit different. Maybe the molds wore out and the new mold was given a different number. If it fits, it can work, but you also have to consider outlet diameter, total volume and so forth.
