OS BGX 2.2 Head Gasket question, and Head and Back Plate torque specs please
Just finished rebuilding a BGX. New piston is slightly different, piston pin lube holes are larger. New rod. The new rod is machined not cast as was the old one, and the oil lube holes are bigger, and a second lube oil hole was added on the crank end, they are slightly larger also. There are 2 gaskets in the Gasket set, do you use them both? According to my caliper they are the same thickness. Also what are the torque specs for the head and the back plate?

You'd use just one head gasket. Please make sure the original one has been removed. They are the same color as the head, and are many times mistaken as part of the head because they fit very closely in the groove.
There are no torque specs for the engine. We just make sure they're secured.
