FT-300 Super Gemini Connecting Rods
I have an Ft-300 Super Gemini Twin that I purchased used around 10 years ago. I am considering a complete gasoline conversion for this engine. I have read that in order to do that, before I embark upon that path, I need to make sure the con rods are the newer (bronze?) type not the older aluminum type as the older type will not stand up to running on a complete gasoline conversion. Is there any way, short of dismantling that I can tell if my engine has the later, updated version of connecting rods?
