140RX throttle linearity
I have a pumped OS 140RX with mixture control, OS pipe and header mounted in a Typhoon with a total of about 15 flights. The engine runs fine, 8000+ rpm, good idle and transition, no complaints. But. The first 2/3 of carburetor throttle opening produce RPM change leaving the final 1/3 with no change, increase or decrease.
This is with a 16X14 prop and 15 Omega and 23% Heli mix.
Is this normal?
Thank You

RE: 140RX throttle linearity
Few R/C carburetors are exactly linear. You'll get the most change in the first part of the throttle movement, with the last amount giving you little change. To get linearity with your throttle stick, you'll need to set up a multi-point throttle curve, if your transmitter is capable of that.

RE: 140RX throttle linearity
Thanks Bax. I presumed this was the case. I also fly another brand 4 stroke but it is totally linear.
Will have to try to make compensate if my Futaba 9C will allow me.
Back to the instruction manual!
