Default prop size and rpm

I read in one post where it was stated that you like to keep the rpm for a .91 fs surpass around 9500. Then I read somewhere else that you like the prop size to be smaller than 15. I can run a 15X6 and I'll turn almost 10,000 with mine. Wouldn't I get higher rpms than are recommended if I went to a smaller prop? Believe me, this is my first 4-stroke and I am by no means saying anyone is wrong, I just wated to make sure I understand and don't ruin my engine. Thanks.

Prop doesn't matter if the engine's RPM is in line and the model's flying the way you want it to fly. The 15" notice was because the 15" prop usually used has more pitch or is likely a different blade profile than the one you're using. The main thing is to not lug the engine down too much. Keep it above 9,000 RPM and you'll be fine.
