I almost ruined my O.S. FS-120 III Surpass w/Pump because sand or dirt got into the cylinder and I had to have the cylinder liner & ring replaced (expensive). What air filter is the best to use to prevent this from happening again? I don't see any advertised specifically for this engine.

There aren't any air filters specifically for the O.S. Max FS-120 Surpass III. Unfortunately, we don't know of manufactured ones that will fit. You can use a piece of nylon ladies' hose over the air intake. Use a small wire tie to hold it in place. This is about as effective as any of the air filters sold for the 2-stroke engines.
