Default Bearing replacement 0S 120

Bax,
What is the recommended procedure for removal of the cylinder liner prior to removing the front and rear bearing on an OS FS 120? rear bearing is shot and my guess the front is no better.
Thanks
Shepp

On the FS-120 Surpass, you remove the head and pushrods, slide the liner up a bit to expose the wrist pin in the hole on the back of the case, remove the wrist pin and slide the liner out with the piston still in it. Remove the camshaft and lifters, and the crank should go out the rear with a gentle tap on the nose. You'll have a bare case, with only bearings in it. Heat the case, and the bearings will fall out. Heat the case again to install the new bearings. Don't heat the bearings.

Bax,
Thanks for the tip. However, the liner is stuck and I am a little concerned about heating the casing to free it. But if I have to heat the case to remove the bearings then I guess I shouldn't be concerned to heat it to free the liner.
Anyway, Thanks for the prompt response.

You can heat the case to free the liner. Just make sure you heat the case evenly. If, after a LOT of heat, the liner won't come out, then it's been warped at some time in the past. In that case, your engine is ready to recycle.
