OS 52 Surpass won't idle w/o glow-plug
Hi guys,
MANY thanks for being here!!
I'm a returning pilot and am ready to start breaking in a 52 Surpass I've had waiting for the last 3 years. It starts ok until I try to disconnect the battrey, then it bogs down and quits. I'm following the break-in instructions to the letter.
Details:
Using Type F Glow plug
Byron Fuel, 10% nitro 20% oil
Dubro glo driver
Sullivan 8 oz tank
Can't think of anything else to add.
Thanks for your time,

What plug, fuel, etc. are you using? We need more info.
I would start with Powermaster 15%, and an OS-F plug- It sounds like the low-end is way too rich... Just a guess-

A new engine won't run well at low throttle until it's had some breakin. Start it, run it up to full throttle before you remove the glow plug battery. Run it at full throttle for breakin. Once it's had sufficient full-throttle time, you can work on the idle mixture.
Very likely, your engine's problem is that the idle mixture's not right. Don't worry about it until the engine's been broken-in.
