Default Sleeve Material

I read on a post that the .18 CVRX sleeve is made of brass, while the sleeve from my OS made .18FSR (Tamiya TNX) is made of aluminum, so the CVRX piston/sleeve combo should last alot longer. Do you know the sleeve materials of both engines? I was going to order a replacement piston/sleeve for my stock TNX motor, but I don't want to waste my money if it's just going to wear out quickly again. Will the CVRX piston/sleeve fit the .18FSR? Thanks.

Default RE: Sleeve Material

We are not familiar with the Tamiya engine, and cannot comment on it.

The O.S. Max .18 CV-RX has true ABC construction: brass liner with chrome plating and an aluminum piston.

We do not know if the piston/cylinder assembly for the O.S. Max .18 CV-RX will fit your other engine.
