Default O.S 18 TM

I am thinking about getting a O.S 18 tm to fit in my t-maxx. On the tower hobbies website is says that you have to fit the crankshaft from the 18TZ-S to use the EZ start with the 18 tm. I dont understand why you can use the pull start but you need to get a new crankshaft for the EZ start. As both the pull start and the EZ start use the same one way bearings.

Also what would i need to do to my t-maxx to put the O.S 18 TZ in it? Because i that engine looks like it has about twice the power of the 18tm.

Default RE: O.S 18 TM

The tech notes mention that the E-Z start will go right on. The notes mentioned an "electric starter"...that means "bump" starting.

Power between the O.S. Max .18TM and .18TZ are very close. One is 1.8 (TZ), and the other is 1.8 (TM).

Default RE: O.S 18 TM

I fitted my os 18 tm 2 days ago and everything is direct fit ,
The engine just fits in on the engine mount & the ez-start just slides right on and screws on perfect !
Just a few adjustments to the throttle and done !
