OS FS crankcase breather
Is there any reason why I shouldn't install a nipple on the inlet manifold and connect the crankcase breather to it so that the oil which comes out ot the crankcase is cycled through the exhaust? The amount of oil coming out of the cranckcase breather of my OS 120 FS makes a real mess of my plane. I seem to recall reading somewhere that certain four-stroke engines do this.

RE: OS FS crankcase breather
While O.S. didn't specifically design your engine for taking the crankcase residues back through the cylinder to vent out the exhaust, there's nothing to stop you from trying that. Of course your engine's needles will need to be readjusted.
You could also just run a piece of tubing from the breather nipple through the bottom of the cowl.

RE: OS FS crankcase breather
Thanks, Bill for your prompt response.
I can understand why I'd have to re-adjust my needle settings.
Do you know anyone who has done this mod and if so, how successful it was?
Regards
Lynton
