I was wondering if there is any way to fit the new 3 port .12 TZ into the old nitro 4-tec, not the new 2.5 model, w/o many modifications. Even if there are alot of mods neccesary, what would i need to do? Im not sure but the TZ is a rear exhaust correct? If so, is there a special header i can purchase to accomodate the side exhaust chassis setup of the Nitro 4-tec?

You'll need to contact someone who really knows R/C cars/trucks. Wer'e not familiar with a 4-Tec, and wold not know what it would take to install your O.S. Max .12 TX into it. Perhaps the maker of the car can tell you.
