Default OS 70 FS Bearing ?

I have a 1.5 year old FS-70II. I tried to go flying today and it would not crank-over. I tried cranking it by hand thinking it was hydrolic (sp?) lock. But it would not turn over. I took it home and dissassembled it. I removed the head, and back crankcase cover. I found spare metal shavings loose in the crankcase. Upon further inspection, I noticed that one of the balls in the rear ball bearing ring was missing. I suspect that a ball was busted. The engine did not undergo extreme stress before today. If I sent this in to be repared, would this be covered by warranty? Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Thank you for your help.

Default RE: OS 70 FS Bearing ?

It would depend upon the reason the bearing in your engine shelled. If it was due to corrosion, the warranty may not apply. We'd have to inspect the engine to make any kind of determination.
