Default propeller for os 120 AX

Hello:

Reading the manual of this engine, O.S. suggests propellers from 15x10-12 to 16x8-10
Reading your web, I check you recommend 14x10 and 15x6 APC propellers

Rpm range of this engine is between 1,800 and 9,500

My engine reaches 9,200 rpm using a 16x8 Master Airscrew propeller

Don't you think you will damage the engine with a so small propellers?

Thanks in advance

You can certainly run a larger prop. Prop the engine for the mid-8,000's, and you'll be in the main torque band for this engine. Running it at 9,000 RPM or so is on the high end of the RPM range, and it's not generating the torque it can.

Depending on the plane your flying I'd try a APC 17X6 or even a 17X8 after it is fully broke in.
