Piston Replacement on 1.60 FX
Bax,
Can I just install a new piston and ring without replacing the cylinder liner?
My cylinder is in pretty good shape, however my piston is scored(used engine, never again[:@]).
Anyway, my thought was to just use a BB style brake cylinder hone or a homemade flap wheel to just "break the glaze" in the cylinder.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

If the liner's find, you don't need to replace it. You may need to lightly clean it with 400-600 grit sandpaper to break any glaze on it, or lightly run a brake cylinder hone through it. Once you've reassembled the engine, break it in as if it were brand-new.
