Default OS 46 FX.... muffler extension

i'm looking for a 1/2" muffler extension for my 46 FX...i went to the os engine web site and they don't even mention the 46 FX except to say that the AX now replaces it...does that mean the extension from the 46AX will fit on the FX?

Here are the stock numbers and list prices of the parts you asked about:

OSMG2578 25425600 MUFF EXTENSION #873 $14.49

These parts can be ordered through any hobby retailer who sells O.S. Max engines and accessories.

That is the same part number that is listed for my OS 46 AX II. It will fit but the exhaust port is far smaller on the engine. The engine port is 7mm by 27mm and the extension is 7mm by 18mm. Does anyone know where I can get an extension that will not disrupt the gas flow?

Not from OS. We don't think will be much difference in performance, though. If you must have one with the same sized passage, then you'll have to modify the OS unit or make your own. We don't know of non-OS parts to work with the OS muffler.
