OS 1.08 FSR help !
I'm just bought a used OS 1.08 FSR. Do I need a pump to run this engine ? I mounted it and started it up briefly and I can tell it's running too lean. It won't richen up when I adjust it. Can anyone tell me a little about this engine and what I need to do to make it run better.
Thanks,
Thanks,

The O.S. Max 1.08 FSR does not need a pump if it's getting good fuel pressure. You need to make sure the fuel tank's not too far from the carburetor, and that it's getting good pressure from the muffler. Some non-O.S. mufflers don't do a good job of providing pressure to the tank.
Another factor may be that there's too big a propeller on the engine. You didn't mention what size propeller you're using. We normally run the engine with a 16 x 6 APX propeller and expect to see a peak RPM of around 10,000 or so.
You may want to mount the engine on a test stand to see what the difficulty may be.

RE: OS 1.08 FSR help !
I'm running a Master Airscrew 15 x 8 prop. The tank is about 1 1/2" from the back of the engine. I notice a lot of bubbles moving through the line when I start it. I'm pretty sure it's just low fuel pressure causing the problem but how do I cure it. The tubing going into the tank is very small. the size you would use for a 46 or 60 size engine. The muffler is the stock OS type.
