Rear bearing stuck on crank on OS 61 FX
How do I get the rear bearing off of the crankshaft on a 61 FX? I heated the crankcase in the oven and the bearings came out okay but I can't get the rear bearing off of the crankshaft. I don't want to pry for fear of damage. Can someone help?
Thanks,
Larry

If your replacing the bearing just pry it off with two screwdrivers. If your not replacing the bearing just leave it on the crankshaft until reassembly. Just remember next time remove the crankshaft first then heat the crankcase to remove the bearings.

You can gently pry the bearing off the crank with a screwdriver or other thin blade. Just be careful to no mar the crank. You can also use a bearing splitter, such as is described in the thread you started in the General Engines forum.
One other note. it's considered bad form to ask the same question in more than one place. It can cause confusion, and most certainly duplication of effort. Thanks.
