Old model fx 120 surpass W/ #12 pump
I have an OS FX 120 surpass that has a #12 pump and the following applies.
(1) good compression
(2) good bearings
(3) bad pump
I cannot find repair parts and would appreciate knowing if I can
pressureize the fuel tank from the exhaust and get it to work or must I scrap it.
Thanks for any info to this subject

Varmit,
The O.S. Max FS-120 Surpass I used the #C-12 carb and the pump with the brass adjusting screw. Unfortunately, both of these items have been discontinued by O.S., and are no longer available through us or them. If the pump is bad, it cannot just be replaced with the pump for the Surpass II engine because your engine has the regulator inside the pump housing. The Surpass II has the regulator inside the carburetor. The only true "fix" is to replace both pump and carb with the ones used on the FS-120 Surpass II engine, which then makes yours a Surpass II.
Because the carburetor used a regulated fuel supply, we have no idea how it would work if you supply only muffler pressure. You may not be able to deliver enough fuel to the carb...or you may deliver too much. The only thing we can say is "try and see".
We're sorry we don't have much information for you on this, but we've only run the pumped engines with operating pumps.
