ODD PROBLEM 18TM
Hi,
I am having this weird problem with my motor I am hoping someone could shed some light on.
What would case the motor to get extremely rich for a couple seconds after a wot pass. the track at my house has a jump where you have to be in second gear to clear it but, every time when on the face of the jump when trying to get back on the gas to accelerate the motor all of a sudden gets really rich.
The truck then face plants into the landing because of the lack of drive up the face. I have tried everything to my knowledge to cure this but nothing works. The motor has less than a gallon of fuel thru it. I used the heat cycle method to break it in.
Thanks Mike

If the engine goes rich when the car goes into the slant of the ramp, that means that the engine's getting more fuel pressure. The "G" forces of the transition into the ramp may be forcing fuel to the carb...check the height of the tank and the lines. If the fuel lines can move around, then that may be a factor. Are you getting air agitated into the fuel? That can cause the engine to be lean, and it richens when conditions change, such as going off the ramp...that could change the vibration levels.
You may have the idle a bit too rich, which causes the midrange and acceleration to be a bit rich. That would cause hesitation or stumbling when you come back on the throttle.
