Default 1.20 surpass Short Crank?

Hi

I have a nice old os 1.20 surpass I that i am having trouble with. Problem- the crank is too short to mount a 15/8 prop with spinner (great planes aluminum spinner). the safety nut will not go on, there simply are no threads for it. The problem is releived a bit with a top flight wood prop but then i only have about three threads of the safety nut on the shaft.

Does this soud right to everyone??? and no the crank was definity not cut. perhaps someone could measure the standard lenght of their engine?

Help me BAX!!

Thanks

We don't have a measurement on the old FS-120 any more, but it's likely that the crank was a bit short for some of the modern props with spinners. Unfortunately, there is no replacement crankshaft.

ok, so maybe i can use a nylon lock nut, or maybe a castle nut with a cotter pin, although i rather not drill the crank.

Thoughts??
