Default OS 91-FS Surpass 1 high speed needle overflow

OS 91-FS Surpass 1 question

Motor is 45 degree/sideways mounted
Centerline carb needle about same height/slightly higher as centerline tank. Using an over sized 18.6 oz tank.
After fueling up the tank excessive amounts of fuel runs off the carburettor high-speed needle; overflow will only stop when high-speed needle is fully closed.
Engine will quitt running when attemting to go high RPMs
Engine runs lean at idle, almost no smoke in exhaust - sign the system sucks air somewhere?
Tried several adjustments with rich to lean mixtures but no full throttle possible without having the engine quitt running.
Took carburettor apart from the case but no visible damage to the rubber between carb and intake pipe.
Looks also like a leakage in the high-speed needle rubber seal but no visible damage can be viewed either.

What is here wrong? Any idea?

Default RE: OS 91-FS Surpass 1 high speed needle overflow

When the fuel level in the tank is higher than the needle valve, and there's fuel in the lines, it will siphon out until the needle's closed, the line is pinched-off, or the fuel level in the tank is lower than the needle. That's normal. When you fuel the engine, you need to make sure that the fuel line's empty of fuel. It won't siphon then.

Make sure the engine's adjusted properly to run well. Don't adjust it to account for the siphoning. If you cannot get the engine to lean at low throttle, you may need to go to a smaller tank or lower your current tank.
