Default OS 46 AX won't turn over freely

Just picked up a 46AX today, tried to turn engine over with glow plug removed but it sticks at the top of the stroke. Is this normal, will this go away after break in, or should I return it?

Thanks for any info.

That is normal...
There is no piston ring so the cilinder liner has a taper to it...
You should not "WARM UP" at low rpms with this type of motor..
Ringed motors you can warm up....

This FAQ should answer your questions. It also applies to the new O.S. Max ABL engines:
