Default Mufflers For FT-160?

I'm interested in acquiring a 160 Twin to run in a 1/4 Cub. I've never heard one in person, but I gather that the sound of this machine is lovely. Nevertheless, I'm concerned about the db level with the unmuffled exhaust pipes (most of my planes are electric). What mufflers can be used with this engine, and how would I mount them on a Cub?

We're sorry, but O.S. does not make a muffler for this engine. You can probably use flex pipes and FS-70 muffler bodies on the ends of the flex pipe. Make sure the muffler bodies are well-secured against any movement or the flex pipes will crack and break.

Thanks.

Does O.S. make brackets for securing the 70-size four-stroke muffler?

You'll have to make your own brackets. It's not difficult. You can obtain some sheet aluminum and aluminum angle at your hardware strore or home center. You can cut the pieces with a hacksaw, dress them with a file, and drill any needed holes.

Since it's a custom installation, you'll need to make the custom hardware.
