What happen to the OS 70 Surpass II
I was looking on Tower for an OS 70 Surpass II and noticed that it is discontinued... was there a problem with that engine? I have not seen or heard of a replacement or up dated engine.... Why did OS/Tower stop selling that engine? Thanks... Richard

RE: What happen to the OS 70 Surpass II
As O.S. releases new engines, the older models are discontinued. The FS 70S II was a great engine, but O.S. now has two choices in the .70-size four stroke class:
OSMG0876 34800 FL-70 RC 4-STROKE
OSMG0875 34710 FS-70 Ultimate 4-STROKE W/PUMP
The FL-70 is a great choice for a sport plane and the FS-70 Ultimate is geared more towards aerobatic flight.

RE: What happen to the OS 70 Surpass II
I believe that O.S. has for a long time offerred the two O.S. 70 size 4 strokes.... so if the Ultimate is new then it would make sense to stop selling the middle one, the Surpass II...as the other 70 size was like an entry level 4 stroke... my concern would only be if the engine was having problems and was replaced...

RE: What happen to the OS 70 Surpass II
The FS-70S II was manufactured for approximately 6 years and had a great track record during that time. It's normal for O.S. to release new designs for their airplane engines every 5-10 years. Sometimes the older designs stick around for awhile, but evently they are phased out.
