Default 91FX prop rpm

Hey there,

I recently read from a man with a new 91FX on the sundowner 50 forum that he is running a 12x10 prop with stock muffler and getting over 12,500 RPM. That sounds amazingly high from my experience with my motor. I am running a 12x8 with a Jett performance pipe and can only manage about 12,100 static. Does it sound like my motor is sick? Should I be getting much more RPM than that?

Thanks

It all depends upon the specific brand of propeller. We've seen that different brands of the same "size" propeller can have very different operating characteristics. Your engine sounds like it's running quite well.
