Default OS FT-160 Gemini Tank question

I have a new OS FT-160 that I want to install on a ¼ Piper Cub.
I realize that there is no nipple pressure on the mufflers that came with the engine therefore the tank wont be pressurize.

How does it work? Is gravity sufficient to make the fuel flow to the carb?

I also bought an aftermarket muffler (Keleo Creations) that indeed has the pressure nipple.

So, I’m confused, the OS muffler don’t have the nipple and the aftermarket has one.

Is it going to affect the performance of the engine if I connect the pressure nipple(Keleo muffler) to tank so it is pressurized?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Mario

Default RE: OS FT-160 Gemini Tank question

Muffler pressure won't hurt your engine one bit. It will perhaps make adjusting the needle a bit easier, and eliminate some needle change due to fuel level change. You don't need pressure, though. It's not gravity-feed the engine uses, but suction created in the carburetor. You still want to set up the tank the same, whether you use pressure or not. The centerline of the tank should be level with the centerline of the carburetor, or slightly lower.
