I am curious as to why the price of the SX 50 is significantly higher than either the FX 46 or the FX 60? Is it just marketing a niche product or is there something special about the engine such as materials or recapturing the R&D costs quickly?

We're sorry, but we don't have the information you're asking for. All suggested retail prices in the U.S. are based upon the FOB, Japan prices. Hobby retailers will usually discount off of that price.
