OS .70 Surpassll Poor Midrange
I have an Suprassll .70 that i bought used and is already broke in.
On the Test stand it runs at Idle VERY good. AS LOW as you wish.
A sudden increase to FULL throttle will transistion very good too.
However a slow increase from idle to full throttle reveals a potential problem. From 0% to about 60% throttle all is well.
But from 60% to 90% there is little to almost no change in RPM.
The sound seems as if its loading up. and from 90% to 100% throttle all is good again.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
MugZ

MugZ,
Most model engine carbs don't operate quite linearly. If your engine is running well, then everything sounds OK.
You may wish to check your idle RPM. If you're idling too slowly, then the midrange could be compromised. We normally shoot for about 2,200 RPM as a good idle. Lower is nice, but only if acceleration and midrange aren't compromised.
