Os 61 Fx & Sf
Hello,
Can I rebuild a .61 FX using a .61 SF Crankcase with it's bearing installed. Most of the .61FX parts are useable exept for the crankcase.
Also, since I nosed in heavy (full throttle) into a dirt field, I am concerned about runout (the warp factor) on the crankshaft, but I have no way to check it.
Your prompt thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Cottco

Parts between the O.S. Max .61 FS and .61 SF cannot be exchanged. The two engines have different bores and strokes.
You can check to see if the crankshaft of an engine's bent by carefully clamping down the engine so it won't move, and using a fixed pointer at the center of the propshaft. You can carefully turn the engine over to see if the center moves. Any visual movement would be considered unacceptable.
