Default Unused os max 45fsr-need break-in-is it ABC?

Is the os max 45fsr an abc engine. I need to know before I break it in. Is there any way to tell by looking at it? I can't find any info on the os site other than it has a vintage of 1978-1980. When did Os start making ABC

thanks, balin

The O.S. Max .45 FSR was made in both a ringed and non-ringed version. You'll have to examine your's to see if it has a piston ring. You can see the piston by looking through the exhaust port.

Bax,
It is definitely non-ringed. Is it ABC or equivalent as far as break-in goes?

Being non-ringed, break it in as if it were an ABC. You use the same procedure for true ABC engines, and the O.S. ABN types.
