OS 35 AX Breakin
Have a OS 35 AX that has approximately 4 tanks of fuel through it with the stock muffler on. 2 tanks were on the ground, 2 tanks flying. Would it be too soon to put a Mac's tuned pipe and mousse can muffler on it ? I have broke it in per the instruction books guideline. Thanks in advance

RE: OS 35 AX Breakin
You can use a tuned pipe at any time, now.

RE: OS 35 AX Breakin
Thanks Bax.

I used a 10 X 6 MAS prop for break in and flights afterwards. With Mac's header and Mousse can muffler, the engine really winds up and am concerned it is over reving. Cannot tell the RPM reading because I do not have a usable tach.

Am thinking about going to a 10 X 7 MAS or 10 X 8 to reduce RPM's Don't want to over rev the engine and ruin it. Did this to my first OS 35 AX when a rear bearing separated from the housing and went through the engine !!! Do you think the larger prop would reduce rpms sufficiently without any significant loss of performance ?

I know I can richen the engine to reduce rpm's or not run at full power for extended periods of time (which I do now). Just wanting to find the right prop for the plane/engine.

RE: OS 35 AX Breakin
A 10 x 6 propeller won't over-rev a .35-size engine. When you lower the RPM, you are lowering the performance of the engine. Can't help that. The "correct" propeller is one that will allow the engine to turn in the middle-12,000's at full-throttle on the ground and still fly your airplane the way you want it to fly.

RE: OS 35 AX Breakin
Thanks Bax for the explanation. Will have to get me a reliable tach to gauge performance.
