RE: Show Off Your Ride!!!
Well, normally I use the BMW X5 4.4 a lot for work, but with the gas prices the way that they are, the BMW has turned in to my 'boat carrying' car and I use the Mercedes 500CL on a daily basis (21mpg av. versues the BMW's 13.5mpg)

RE: Show Off Your Ride!!!
I guess it is a bit cheeky!!! The perm 4x4 system on the X5 is a real hog! I had a Mini Cooper for a couple of months, but my business partner (who also thinks he is my father) saw me driving it on the mountain road once and made me sell it...[] If anyone is in the market for a Cooper, always go for a manual transmission with the S engine. It is a real hoot!

It is a sad sign of the economy when BMW owners have to resort to driving their Mercedes to save on gas.
Ha ha is that from the Mcain definition of being rich

RE: Show Off Your Ride!!!
Here are my current rides- 05 Vette, 99 911 and 98 Jimmy along with the car I sold to buy my Vette- 05 GTO with a built motor and twin turbo setup on it- put down 795/806 to the wheels on pump gas- it was my daily driver . The Jimmy pic isn't the best, it was taken in my garage right after painting the side due to a winter collision my wife had with a tree . Oh, it is no longer for sale either- I use it to pull my Seadoo Speedster 150 now .

Yep - bet she ran awesome in them Albany winters. Lived in Albany 4 years and drove a Porsche year round. Winter was mostly spent sideways trying to get up the thuway from the hudson. She was light, stock, and useless. I am sure all those mods did wonders for winter traction.

RE: Show Off Your Ride!!!
I am actually in Milford, PA right now- I changed it in my profile, but it still says Albany [sm=confused.gif].
Lol- I should have said "daily driver when there was no snow on the ground" . Even then, as long as the roads were clear and not too salty/muddy (they used a lot of sand/dirt/pebbles here this past winter !), I'd take it out for a cruise here and there. It did stay garaged most of the winter though. It was perfectly tame to drive, but I didn't like it getting all dirty and salty, especially since I had other cars to drive. With snow tires though, I'm sure it would have been fine (turbos only make power when you are on it, it cruised 100% stock ). I drove it up until the snow fell, then the Jimmy or my G6 (sold as well) was used. I work from home, so there was no commuting or anything just used whenever I had to go somewhere.
I was just getting at the fact that it was dead reliable and driven all the time, not some finicky, troublesome car. Heck, I had that, my 911 and an 06 G6 GTP at the same time- I even took the G6 to FL and back yet still put more miles on the GTO that year than the 911 and G6 combined lol. I gotta try to find my in-car videos from that car. They are pretty crappy unexciting (speedometer only), but you can see how fast the speedometer climbs and hear it break the wheels loose at about 110mph in one of them .

I used to live in Milford, just south of the Wal-mart on 209. I don't miss going over the mountain on 84 east in the wintertime. Haven't seen snow in 6 years and I don't miss it. I feel for you......

RE: Show Off Your Ride!!!
We live out off 739 in Conashaugh Lakes. Nice place, but man- were are going absolutely insane out here. Nothing to do, way behind the times and the people are a bit different than we are used to. I would like to keep this place as a vacation home if we can swing it, but we certainly have to moved ASAP lol. If we lived down by Matamoras, it would be better but living here and driving to Middletown 4-5 days a week just to do what we'd consider "normal" stuff is taking it's toll on us!
How's CA treating you? We haven't figured out where we are going yet, I was thinking FL- but after living here for 3 years, even parts of Albany are looking better and we made some good friends while we were there. We were only up there a couple of years while my wife was finishing school. Maybe even the Carolinas. We'll see.

munroe1656- neat projects you got there!! [8D] Very unique, I likey!! Also some neat projects going on on the web site... very cool. I want to 'unnaturally aspirate' (turbo/supercharge) one of my toys someday, don't know which one yet or on what engine platform to build it on. Decisions, decisions
