Ya, it's fun

I had 2 JL Audio TR650-CXI to replace my 6x9's in the rear deck. Was going to run them with an Audison SRX 2 amp until the amp got stolen from me out of my car. Decided to sell the JL speakers.
Currently have a 10" Hertz ES-250 in a ported box powered by a TMA 500.1
Sounds pretty decent for a single 10.

Kept the stock deck to make it seem like the car was left stock as I've always been paranoid about leaving something in the open for people to view. Apparently that didn't work and the thieves broke in anyway.[>:]

Where my car was broken in to was a spot near the edge of the hamilton mountain. I was slope flying my R/C plane off the edge of the mountain and was about 200 meters away from my car. This happened at around 6:30PM on a Saturday. I was not listening to music on the way there and I've only been to this location one other time with a member from rc groups. It was a random act and my car happened to be an excellent target.

They happened to break a window, take an amplifier, GPS and R/C plane LiPo. Expensive day. Since then I have took out the trunk release handle beside the drivers seat so a key must be used to enter the trunk only.

Kenwood headunit

4 x fosgate 6.5 componet sets

1 x fosgate p400-4

1 x MMATS 2400hd

2 x CV dual voice coil subs (2 x 2ohm wired in series and then paralleled)

The cap is not there to help the power surges, its just being used as a dist block because it has 2awg inputs and 2 8awg outputs

Yea my next system i think is gonna be the new Fi BTL (fully loaded of course) 18" And a Rockford fosgate t40001BD. Thats is about $2500 just for that. Then i am buying a Iraggi alternator and an XS power battery which will ad atleast $500 on to that. But first i need to buy a new car because my lumina would be horrible for an spl comp. Im hoping to hit 150db with this setup.

In my Dakota Quad Cab I'm running two 10" L7's powered by a Punch Power BD1000 and I have to say that it flat out rocks. I've been into car audio for about 12yrs now and for me the Solo-Baric subs have given the best sound "quality" out of what I've used in the past. Plus they out beat anything my dimwitted friends ever put together trying to get loud (you know how it goes, $300+ subs pushed by a $150 Wal-Mart amp.) "If you wants quality you gots to pay foe it". - Hustle and Flow

subs are stupid.

I find it rather pointless to spend $2000+ just to get your car to be annoyingly loud.

Take my advice and got to the local dollar store and buy a bunch of airhorns and tape them to your car. It will be as load if not louder and it will be cheaper.

Subs add great depth to music. With out them, you don't get full range of the sound spectrum. This applies whether you listen to a choir, movie or hip hop.

The Metallica, Led Zepellin, AC DC, Offspring ect. music I pump through my system sounds full, rich and just excellent. With out the Subs in my car the double drum bass Metallica songs sound like crap. Speakers just can not accurately re-produce the frequencies created on those bass hits.

It's plain and simple. People who don't understand subs don't understand what quality music or listening is. It's like going to the movie's a bomb going off in the movie and you can't feel the explosion. That would be a really crappy sound system.

Trying to make a slow approach in to a SQ system in the mid range budget.

Ended up getting 2 HX-250 Hertz Subs. 450wrms each
Went with a Compustar 2W8000 2 way starter/alarm. The states sell the 2W900, only difference is I guess US laws restrict max distance. Mine is rated for 5000 feet and states is 3000feet.
Since I bought an alarm I went with a cool deck. Pioneer DEH-6000UB. It's got a lot of cool bells and whistles, and the SQ is pretty decent for a sub $300 Deck.

I want to hunt down cheap Audison LRX amps but that's next to impossible if you don't live in Europe. Might have to settle for SRX. Looking to get a 4 channel and mono sub amp from Audison. Also want to swap out my front 6.5's for a pair of the HCX 165's.

Not sure what to do with rear fill. I may just swap out the 6x9's for some 5.25's. I don't need any bass/mid-bass or volume back there.

HAHA, i just read this again. BTW, this forum is really dead[]. I havent been on here in a long time. Anyways, it is amazing what someone can learn in two months!!!

I have since decided to go with two Audioque HDC3's. Im am gonna be running two(10") of them on a IA 20.1(2000watts rms @ 1 ohm, 2700rms @ .5 ohm, And crazy power @ .25 ohm) for now(changing to a Digital Designs z1a, or any other 5kw amp). I will be competing in street A in DB drag.

To whoever said to get the JL w7. Dont take his advice!!! Sure W7's are kinda loud, and have some SQ, but there are tons of better options out there for the price. Pm me if you need a setup, i can hook you up(new or used).

With due respect for audiophiles out there, I may just adopt the persona of a particular type of person residing in Sydney, most likely living around the Bankstown area and driving a Rexie or a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Roman Numeral. He might say something like...

"...I swear-to-god-bro-my-20'-sub-is-putting-out-2500kw-at-the-rear-wheels-and-300kw-through-the-steering-wheel! It's so loud, bro, it blew the Veilside completely off Yousef's Accent!..."

But being a white middle class boy I seek solace with a Pioneer h/u, Jaycar re/sponse speakers and iPod. No amps...but I like my hearing...
