Yes, it's 1.4 (all the petrol ones are) so it's not really worth remapping since the gain is only 10bhp.

for little engines like that, you could upgrade the muffler (no fart can) and maybe get 5-8hp, and if you get a K/N filter (no intake as may void warrenty) you might gain another 2-5HP

its halrious thinking about that when my engine is a 5.7L and knowing that was a small block back in the day.

Hey, 1.4l 4 cylinder engines are pretty big here nowadays, everyones swithing to 2 and 3 cylinders Not long left till we ride our nitro trucks to work...
The muffler can't really be upgraded anymore since it's a Fiat engine with just a sports exhaust which already increases the power by 5bhp more than the stock Fiat. I guess it would get 1 or 2 bhp more but that's not worth it.
I am looking into the uprated filter.

It's also pretty funny knowing today's 1.8 liter engines put out more power than that 5.7 back in the day.

RE: My new Frog!
Small capacity, thats how we roll in the UK!
Rear bulbs also changed (kept the originals in the boot just in case..)
Taking it to the specialist tomorrow, if the cost is too much to sort out i think i will be changing to one of these come September time..
Bigger car, more power, almost identical on the performance stats, but build quality is better..

RE: My new Frog!
The visit to the specialist was a success! he found a few minor issues with the car.. (apologies for whitewashed or dull pics..)
Strut top mounts (black rubber bits) weren't specific Renault items (which this car needs as the stock items are slightly different shape to most others)
One of the strut tops had about 5-10mm more thread showing than the other (not level)
The sump plug didnt have a rubber seal on (very slight leak) which again, this car needs (he changed it without draining anything!)
Tyre pressures were a little on the high side (my fault) [&:]
I have to go back to get new front discs (maybe pads as well) and to have the headlamp washers sorted, also i need new tyres pretty soon, the guy recommended Hancook V12's..
10 points for anyone who can guess the mystery engine....

well thats what the speedo reads, I dont think it could nor would I want to go that fast think I would crap my pants.

my volvo had a 140mph speedo, but its has been proven the 850 turbo R will hit 150-160MPH however its factory limited at 140.
in the same case ive seen 160mph speedo's in cars like beetles, trucks and other cars, no way in hell they will do that.
my vette has a 140MPH speedo, and i doubt it will hit over 130 with its 1:1 gearing.
in short, they ard just numbers.

RE: My new Frog!
if it had the intake and exhaust mainfold on would be a tad easier to figure out. With the speedo yeah I know I was just joking thats all. Back in the 80's the mustang had a 85 mph odo and people were a little pissed about that. also most speedo's are really off when you get over idk say 75 85 mph like 5 to 8 mph off.
