RE: These are sooo cool!!!!!
$10 grand for 30/40 miles of range - about 1 hour of ride time @ 30mph if you're lucky...
And 4 hours to recharge
Thanks but no thanks!

Hm... I thought that safety/situational awareness was 1/2 the reason why motorcycles are loud. I'd be nervous with this thing.
That being said, I'm always a fan of new/green technology.

Don't mind ThunderbirdJunkie, just enjoying his gas 4 cylinder '79 GS550E he bought 10 years ago for $900, 60 miles per gallon, and faster than just about any production car and far cheaper to maintain than that thing[&:]

There has been many times those "crazy loud pipes" have saved my life because it pissed off people talking on cell phones to the point they got off the phone.

do people have a problem with electric things? really? i don't understand that. IMO electric is better than gas.

its the recharge time vs distance, and convenience vs cost
A kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom(chosen cause it looks decent IMO, and not extremely expensive) gets 49 miles a gallon and costs $8,495. It has a 5.3gallon tank
Now currently gas is $3.50ish by me so I'll estimate how many fillups you can get for the savings. For the cost difference you can get 430 gallons of gas for it.
So pretty much you get 21,000 miles worth of gas if you go with a kawasaki vulcan, and you can go over 250 miles before worrying about refueling, where as that electric you have to pray your home after a 30ish mile round trip or you will be pushing cause I don't know of anyplace(by me at least) that will let you plug it in.
But thats just my opinion on it
I'd have to pray to the electric gods (zeus I guess is closest) that I would make it to work even with the Zero model.

RE: These are sooo cool!!!!!
well see? thats why electric is good for short rides not long highway rides. sure if they start building Recharge stations that take 3 minutes to charge, i would go electric in a second-electric car, and motorcycle!!!!!!

$1 $2?
so $1-2 a trip it would cost & waiting 3-10 mins (no clue on re-charge times) + the pain of locating a station or just cruise and know you will get fuel where ever you are.
Now the idea like the Chevy volt is interesting and I would like one personally. Its just they charge a ludicrous amount for it. Me thinks they need to call up hobbyking to hook em up with lipos

pure electric cars are the future, but untill they can make one with truly amazing range and affordibility its a no go.
by the way, natral gas/propane powered cars produce close to NO emissions (you can run them in-doors), and you dont have to make a poisenous battery for it THAT is the future, but it makes too much sense.
