Hey guys, I've been talking with phmaximus in this thread: RC Plow Truck Motor Decision/Choices I have a Tamiya TL-01 on-road machine, converted to a MT. I'm plowing with it. I've decided that after blowing up a 55T motor, I'm going to use a RC4WD 4:1 Gear Reduction Unit. http://store.rc4wd.com/41-Ultra-Comp...or-_p_782.html I want to cruise at a top speed of around 9-10mph. The TL-01 (It's actually a Bonzer Cross Tiger, under the TL-01 name. Same chassis, gearing, etc.) is geared for 35mph on a 27T motor. It's EXTREMELY tall gearing for pushing snow. Anyway, if I did the math right with the help of phmaximus, it should go pretty close to 9mph with this motor: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ess-Motor-105T I would like to know if this motor is high quality, or at least decent quality. I know the GRU description says not to use a brushless motor, but I've found that others are at high rpms, and are having success. I'm using a VXL3S ESC on 2S to power this motor. I need lots of torque, and that's about the only way I've found to get it in this truck. Amain Hobbies is having their cyber Monday sales, and I want to get 10% off the motor by ordering it tonight. I just want to confirm that this motor is of good-great quality and won't fail. Is it?
If it works, take it apart and find out why.

The gear reduction unit might not be a bad idea, but any TL-01 chassis based car is probably a little bit light for snowplow duty, I am guessing.. But it is your call, yo

Yeah, traction in the snow will come down to the weight quite a bit..

TXT would be a good plow truck!

I've piled old heavy bolts and nuts in the compartment area Below the ESC compartment. The whole truck fully assembled with tire chains, added weight, battery, and plow setup mounted, weighs exactly 7lbs. What does a TXT or the Hi-Lift weigh? The plow and plow frame together weigh about 22oz. Could be lighter, but the blade is made from stainless steel instead of aluminum and it has rubber strips lining the top and bottom edges of it. Is there any other ways to add weight without making it visible? Like, I don't want to put a brick in the bed of the truck body that's on it, and call it good. I'd rather have it look more scale, then it actually doing more work, if that's the only option. (Which I'm sure it's not) Any ideas?

Perhaps duct-taping a few squirrels to it would help.

Not really, just didn't realize where the pic came from. I replaced it with a better one for the records.

We just had a work outing (company party) at a Blackhawks game in a huge suite, tons of free food, booze, etc. It was amazing. They roll the dessert cart up and you just have at it.

That's very cool. I thought I saw something like this used on a car show I watch - either Fast N Loud or Wheeler Dealers. Fascinating process.

Fast n Loud is a bit cheesy, but yet I watch it cause it's a car show.
