Hm...you don't already have a radio, receiver and servos (any old crap will do for throttle, only steering needs to be good)...? From the LX?

If you do, then I'll say, save a tad more and get one of these with a cheap engine...

Proper race machine and you get to build it too...has been at a great price for a while now... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ion-Truggy-Kit

Makes the Savage look like a joke (I should know I've had 2 nitro truggies and 1 nitro savage, plus 2 electric truggies and an electric savage, all with GOOD money in them).

That's ALL I've got is stuff for the LX. I will pay well over what the Savage is worth for a nitro kit. That truggy is $350 with no motor, exhaust. That what another $200 for a good set? Don't get me wrong, I know it will laugh at the Savage, but I don't have deep pockets, or a means to buy race quality RC's as all I do is bash.

Well what I don't like is the low KV motor. That's why I was thinking of getting the Flux 2650kv system. The stock motor has no top end and cogs and jitters a lot. So then I got thinking about a nitro. I remember having an original savage .21 back in the day, and I loved the tuning and the sound and the nitro part and that's what got me on this. Has the Savage line really gone that far downhill? I would just use it for bashing and ripping around the park.

A good esc will make a difference. Its more cash of course though, and you're hankering after a nitro...hm...tough one, i agree. You can probably guess what I'm gonna say...

I say upgrade the electrics in the lx. You're already invested in it and you really should see what that 2650kv setup will do. Do it, do it, do it.

Well I really want to upgrade the LX, but $300 for a new BL system, and compared to a new nitro Savage. This is going to take some thought. I guess it all depends on what the wife says. I have the OK to buy the BL system when we have the money, but if I can fish out a new RC (who is ever going to pass that up) I might take the Savage route. Is there something about the Savage X in which you are not fond of, Foxy?

No center differential, insanely high center of gravity, hubs are a joke, non adjustable suspension geometry out of the box, no CVDs, bad hubs, terrible hubs. That about wraps it up. Guess I should say what I like about it as well, only fair...backflips...erm.......um......yeh...wait... ..er......I got it, er....no.......oh, yeh, the stock tires are pretty good, shame their glued to plasticene fake chrome wheels.

No bitterness up in here. I've spent over 5 grand on savages over the years and never been happy with one except when doing backflips. They always drove like total crap. The flux was about the best when being driven at nutty speeds, it somehow stayed upright due to the forces generated by the brushless spinning the tires off the rims. Oh, yeh, the brushless ones spin the wheels off the hubs.

Meh, I guess I just have high expectations.

Well, no offense and don't take it the wrong way Foxy, but I think you may have slight high intentions, being that you love X-Ray. Nothing wrong at all with it. I praise an opinion of an actual owner compared to internet reviews. Knowing my past lineup of RC (Traxxas Bandit VXL, Vendetta TC, Flux XS, LX2E) I think it would be ok as I obviously don't expect too much from one. I don't know. You guys make decisions so difficult lol.

Based on the $2000+ dollar build he is doing, I would say more disposable income lol. I mean I've got money, but not that much just laying around to be like "Eh, I'm gonna get a new RC. Not a cheap one either" lol
