Default question for you atv guys...is this a good deal?

im looking at purchasing a used atv. i found a 2006 kawasaki brute force 650 4x4. its the model with the solid rear axle...not the IRS. it has a warn winch installed. its camo with some scrapes and scuffs but nothing too bad. he is asking $3900 but he said he would do $3700. i test drove it and it sounded good and felt strong. i believe he said it had around 700 miles. does this sound like a good deal? anybody here have an opinion on the brute force?

No exp with the brute force but Kaw's in general have a poor track record with the guys I ride with. All the ex Kaw riders are now either Yamaha or Honda owners. Personally towed prairies toomany miles. My first and 34th impression is not good. Heck one of my buddies has a mule and that too is a POS. He is at the point of shooting it. He has some sort of fuel delivery issue that they said could be fixed for around 2 grand!! Geez!!

Just my .02 and exp.. A 2 inch tow strap works best for the big prairies.

$3700 is what you pay for a low-hours, great condition 06 brute force. Did he paint it camo? Or did it come that way?. Kawasaki makes great ATV's, but you might want to also look int a Polaris, the engines are better.

In the late nineties I built (and then OVER-built hehe) a 1996 KLX250R for the local tracks. That bike made me love Kawasakis, and I rarely ever had any issues with it. I raced it for nearly ten years and took many podiums in that time with it. Stroker performance 340 kit, Yoshimira Tri-Oval exhaust, Eibach, Renthal, etc etc My god I just realized how much I miss that bike.... hmmm
