Default Which mountain bike?

Looking to get into mountain biking, and have been looking at couple entry level bikes.

Specialized Hardrock Disc $569
Trek 3700 Disc $499
Giant Revel 1 $599

Which one would you pick?

Ive owned a couple of Trek bikes and they have both been great.. I do see mechanical disc brakes as a bit half assed though, i'd either go hydraulic disc or stick with V brakes (no middle ground for me!)

I like the Bontrager finishing kit as well [8D]

Maybe a used Teocali or FSR? Or some other older high quality bike for that money...

They're all basically the same bike. They have the same forks, same drive train, same brakes, and similar wheelsets.

Personally, I would go with the Trek, they make good frames.

I can't believe that "entry level" is $500+ Ouch.

That's ludicrous if you're just a dude looking to ride around on some trails for fun - even the "entry level" ones. This is why I ride the walmart special.
