iPhone explodes !!

Also detailed are a couple other incidents of smartphones self-destructing.
Anyone who has ever placed a 9V battery in a pocket with some change knows the eventual outcome. Who's to say some small piece of wire, wet lint, etc., couldn't be a cause?

Haha a guy I worked for years ago put a cordless drill 18V battery in his pocket along with a couple of small screwdrivers.

To me, it looks staged. There have been some very good threads on reddit about this incident. The way he acts isn't right, the smoke is all wrong, and it looks a bit large to be an iPhone. LiPo batteries either belch white or black smoke, blue smoke is indicative sulfur burning, like with a smoke bomb.

To me, it looks staged. There have been some very good threads on reddit about this incident. The way he acts isn't right, the smoke is all wrong, and it looks a bit large to be an iPhone. LiPo batteries either belch white or black smoke, blue smoke is indicative sulfur burning, like with a smoke bomb.
Doesn't look staged IMO because:
* He seems to act appropriately, ejects the hot phone from his pocket quickly.
* Smoke looks white. The entire scene has a bluish cast, probably from a low-grade security cam.
* If it was an actual security cam, he may/may not have known it was there.
* Looks right size for an iPhone. I have one.
Until we get more info from witnesses, I guess we'll never know for sure. Looks believable here.

LOL, watch a couple episodes of CSI and it makes you an instant forensics expert!

agree with eddieC it looks real IMO
I work a lot of low quality security cameras, and that kind of color saturation is common place.
Then again my job is staring at crappy cameras like that all night long which is the other reason I think its real. I've seen some funny things on them, but if I got caught uploading them I'd be terminated instantly(one guy was)
