well what I'm trying to do is to filter a linked access database table based on the log in name.
this is the last issue I need to overcome before my project works as I want it to.
if it helps it is visual web developer 2010 express

I think you need to bind the 'label' control to the log in name. I have no such controls on my site but that one seems to be one way to link the database.
