just today got a new laptop from work here are the specs.. I've been out of the loop focusing more one Xbox One and PS4 stuff so I don't know the latest PC Hardware...

Radeon R5 512mb Dedicated rest shared.

should be ok for last gen games on moderate settings right?

Yeah, last gen should run fine. GPU may be a little weak, but the CPU certainly has some grunt.
