RE: how old are you ?
50 here.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones. My dad was building rc planes before I was born so I've been around this stuff for as long as I can remember. The first nitro I ever owned was a Cox PT-19 trainer. It was amazingly tuff. Now all my planes are electric and my cars/trucks/boats are nitro.

RE: how old are you ?
I'm 49 and my first rc was a cox dune buggy back in 1967.
It wasn't remote control though. It didn't got that fast, so I
could catch it and turn it around. You could also turn front
wheels so it would go around in circles. RC ing ended for me after
that dunebuggy untill 2004 when I bought a savage for my son for his 10th
birthday. I've done many upgrades to that money sucking !@@!!#!@
!@#$$#%$$% thing. I'm so upset I bought my own money
sucking muther @#@$%^&* and @@@@#$ savage LE.
Don't tell my wife how much we spend these rotten @#$$%%% savages.
Savage talks to me while I sleep, Buy me this and buy me that. Oh god
make it stop. I think It orders its own parts off E-Bay with my credit
card while I sleep. I found tire tracks on the keyboard the other morning.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
no no no no ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

RE: how old are you ?
I'm 44 years old and my first RC was also a cox dune buggy with a .049 nitro motor back in the early 70s when I was about 10 years old. I loved that thing, I never forgot the smell of nitro in 30 years. Now I am finally financially able to afford this hobby and loving it!

This is a new hobby for me but I must say I am enjoying it. I will be 32 in 2 weeks and always wanted a nitro powered truck. Just having fun and glad to be part of this forum with people my age. Glad to see it!!

I am old enough to tell 50% of every RC'er in this forum, to "STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR SAVAGE, AND GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK"!!!!!!! Seriously, I am shocked so many 30+ guys are so into nitro. GREAT poll idea BTW,!
I'm 40 (Team Savage/Geritol racing)
"no, my servos aren't glitching, I have the "old guy shakes"!

RE: how old are you ?
I am wondering how many of those pesky kids are children of the 31 to 40 group? Both seem to be eaqually popular with the RC stuff. I am new to the family thing. I wll be 33 this year and have a 2 yr old son and a 5 mth old daughter. They will be RC nutz if I have my way. The boy is already a wing nut. We are driving to Summerville SC next weekend to watch some pylon racing. He loves playing with my AFPD.

Now I'm curious how many 12 year old kids are claiming they are 30ish........ Actually, the more I think about it, probably not many. Every person who claims to be over 25ish can actually spell, AND use punctuation in their posts! (the true giveaway for grammar school kids is spelling (specifically, LACK of) LOL

RE: how old are you ?
I am 27 and I buy what makes me happy. If driving around in a new Honda Civic would make me feel like a man I would have one. But to me having a point A point B car with a suped up savage getting 10-12 feet of the bycycle jumps down the street is all I want out of life.

RE: how old are you ?
I feel so young in this thread, pushing 20 in a few months.
I work 75-80 hours a week and absolutely cherish my RC/hobby day (Sunday).
Ever since I got my first job at 15 i've been spending a good proportion of my income on RC's, cars, boats, planes and helicopters..IMO it is in no way a waste of money, and who said you can't buy happiness?
