RE: THE LOUNGE 2
Here's a (seemingly) silly question - how do you connect wires from an ESC/battery/motor to these plugs?:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4136&Product_Name=Gold_Plated_Spring_Connector_3.5mm_(1 0pair)
Will 12 gauge even fit in there? I mean, with Deans, you hold the wire (with pliers!), tin the wire and deans connector, attach them, and there ya go. For these connectors (above), what...do you stick solder on the wire, and just jam it in there?

Melt some solder on the wire.. stick the wire in.. heat up the connector, melt the solder, and it sticks!!

I have a few of these, will have to experiment. The issue I run into w/Deans is if I hold the iron too long on the tab trying to get a solid solder job, it melts the plastic housing just enough to make the connecting tab wiggle. So I can end up with plugs that don't fit 100% right, too tight, tough to unhook, etc. I know it takes practice, but maybe these different connectors are a little less error-prone (or user proof!).

I solder those all the time for brushless motors. I like to tin both the wire and melt some solder into the bullet. Then stick the wire in there and hold the iron there for awhile until I am sure both are remelted.
The best thing with those connectors are you can hold the iron on there forever without worrying about melting anything. Even use a hotter wattage soldering iron as it can't hurt!

RE: THE LOUNGE 2
bullet connectors are easy to do .. it needs
1: a small vice "with balsa or some type of wood tooth insert as to not damage the connector" or a pair of good pliers
2: a small butane pen torch
3: solder and wire
4: about 60 seconds to do 3 of them
tin the wire lightly.. melt the cup on the bottom of the bullet about 2/3 full of solder "using your butane torch this takes absolutely no time at all" while still heating the connector insert the wire into the molten solder in the bullet.. remove heat let stand repeat for next connector
a trick if you managed to get the wire too full of solder "yes wire.. not bullet" OR its misshapen.. just take a pair of pliers to it and mush it a bit till it fits the hole all is well

Someone tell me why I should buy the slash.
Someone tell me why I should buy the slash.
Because:
1 It is a Traxxas model, so it will last forever, like a Tamiya.
2 It looks really cool. LOL
3 It is HUGE.
4 You know you want one. LOL

Alternatively Eman you can use a standard soldering iron, I have for years, don't run out and buy a butane iron if you do't want to.
Good advice turbo.
