RE: THE LOUNGE 2
lol 9000kv.. a little math says its still SLOWER than a 5700 on 3cells....
9000x6.8V "loaded 2cell voltage nominal" = 61200 unloaded rpm
5700x10.8V = 61560 unloaded rpm
the 5700 will have more usable tq so it will sustain a higher rpm at the end of its band
than the 9000 will because it doesnt produce the sufficient torque to maintain it
for racing itll be good i suppose..well it would be if roar and such allowed sensorless systems
but as we know they dont... bob novak has his hands too deep into the sanctioning bodies to allow that to happen
what i dont understand is.. well the simple fact of the matter is its more efficient to run a lower kv motor on higher voltage.
id just about bet that 9k motor geared normally "no overkill" will still draw in the 50-70A constant range in a TC where the 5700 on 3s would only draw in the 40-60 range
there are faster motors on the market however.. the C4 Bigstick from horizon is 9400kv there are a few new motors out sensored and sensorless that are pushing the 10000kv range and higher

RE: THE LOUNGE 2
most people i think go "oOOH big RPM = big speed" (i made that mistake, 6800 for an 18T..... [:@]) now i run a 4200 chinese knockoff in-runner that gives me more speeds than the 6800 did without overheating and with gooobs of torque

need sensored for better pick-up
and most clubs have limits on turn of motor etc
also, a lot of tracks are too small for fast motors and vice-versa

Nothing like plugging in a battery, turning on the power switch and watching the motor go full speed [:@]
Luckily it was on the stand (empty cd spindle) when it happened.
