One time I was in a rental (New York plates) and was pulled over "for following to close to the vehicle ahead of me" in Ohio. Never mind that the exit I needed was less than 2 miles away and I was doing the posted speed limit.

The state tropper got the dog out and smelled something on the passanger side door - I was driving by myself. Next thing I know I am in the back of the police car in hand cuffs, everything was on the side of the road - suit cases opened, floor mats, spare tire - all doors open, hood, trunk and if anything was found in the car I would have been arrested on the spot even though I told the cop 3 times it was a rental and if anything was found in the car that was outside of my personal effects I was not responsible.

After 45 minutes of sitting in the back of the car, he lets me out, hands me my paperwork and drives away leaving me to clean up the mess that he made [:@]

Secret - not a Molson fan then? What's the good canuck stuff then?

I like Molson Golden, LaBatt's, Moosehead, but it's not like we get a ton of Canadian beers to choose from here.
Moosehead is ok. Canadian is better than Bud but that's not saying much. Molson's Rickard's Red is pretty good.

Kokanne/ Alexander Keith light/amber and Sleeman's Honey Brown are the best widely available Canadian beers.

For you guys that have widescreen LCD (for PC).. you need the widescreen video card for it, right? Or things will look compressed up and down, right??

I guess I am asking if I can get a widescreen LCD for an old PC.. my sister's LCD went bad this past week.. but now it is hard to find non-wide screen LCDs! (there's some, but not that many..)

I think most of the video card for 5-6 yrs ago -> they just support the standard aspect ratio resultion, like 1280x1024, 1024x768, etc. So that's not gonna to look right?!

You don't need a special widescreen vid card per se, but you do need a vid card that supports the native resolution of the LCD. For example, I have a 22" widescreen LCD at home, my gfx card is a few years old, but supports the resolution (1680 x 1050), so it works ok.

I think the way to tell is to go and see if you can even adjust your video resolution to 1680 x 1050 (or whatever the resolution of the LCD you are looking at it). You don't need to change to that resolution, but if it's not even an option to choose, I don't think your gfx card will support it.

I think that makes sense....

If you want any links to good LCD reviews, I can provide them. I got mine just a few months ago for a reasonable price, and like it. You can sure spend a lot more than I did...LOL

standard resolution is like.. 1024x 768 1280 x 1024.. widescreen res is 1440x900 and the example given above most newer graphics cards support that.. but if not the hd line of cards EG hd2400 pro (ATI) or the 8600gt(Nvidia) will do it and do it very well and can be had for very little. Yeah, yours probably won't then. You can check though to be sure.

I'm excited - I actually got my parts to re-built my PC guts, so I'll get on that soon. New memory, Gfx, HD, motherboard, processor, etc. It's in the "good performing, not expensive" price range. I like hitting the good price/performance points, rather than spending oodles of $$ on the latest/greatest.

The tricky part nowadays is if you have a 6-7 year old PC, you likely only have an AGP vid card slot on that mobo. Newer (even cheap) vid cards mostly seem to be PCI-E, so AGP is harder to find, and pricier I believe.

Yeah, I think the last time I spent money on a computer was when I was being dumb and bought a laptop in 1999 / 2000 range before I went back to school... back then, the Dell laptop I got was $2600! DOH! And it wasn't even top of the line or anything.. LOL!

You may just need new drivers for the video card for it to work on a wide screen monitor.

My Radeon 8500 works no problem at 1440x900.

Then you're probably hosed, as far as getting what you have to support that resolution. You might be able to add a gfx card to it though (likely has to be AGP though, like I said, which could be a pain to find one new....there's always eBay though).

If things go well with my new PC build, I'll have a Radeon 9800 Pro AGP gfx card available soon....heck, you could have that.

So....I tore the shock seal on my rear TRF shock in the DT02-MS. Not sure how (well, I know how....general bashing abuse, but anyway....). I have a few spare shock seals around, but none fit it properly. The item is "discontinued" at Tower, my LHS doesn't have it. Tamiya part # is 50600. TamUSA has it, but $5 shipping on a $2 part sucks.

Ebay shipping ain't any better. Arg.

I don't think my sister's computer have AGP slot.. I think it pre-dates that... [X(]

Any Tamiya shock seal would work, though, right?!

You are not talking about the o-ring, though, right?!

How do you kill a shock seal?! LOL.. it is inside the shock cap, no?!

I will need to have her take a pic.. she is in CA... ha!

Or maybe I will just give her my LCD (non-widescreen) and I can somehow check to see if my video card can do widescreen or not.. (my PC is slightly younger.. maybe 3 yrs?! ha!)

I guess any Tamiya shock seal would do, I have no idea. I tried a Traxxas part (bandit shock seal?) and it doesn't seal properly.

And yep, it's the seal that sits on top of the shock (the little bladder thing), just under the shock cap. It tore man, I have no idea how. My LHS doesn't stock Tamiya parts, so that stinks.

I guess I should dig around for "shock parts" for general Tamiya stuff on Tower and see what I find, assuming the diameter of the TRF seals are the same as normal Tamiya buggy shock seals (Desert Gator, Durga, whatever).
