My LST1 Roller truck. Pretty decent trade, in my opinion. I was going to make that truck brushless, but I haven't been driving much as of late, so I thought a heli would be fun to try again.
We'll see!

yes yes.. let tex have a once over.... his uber calibrated eye can spot problems with helis pretty quick (seriously)
flight report..
Slo V came in today .. all i can say is WOW .. what a nice calm "i want to say little here.. but its rather a big plane" aircraft.. it can just put put around.. or get it goin downwind and have some fun
was flying in about 8-10mph winds today really no issue "considering i havent flown an airplane in 3 years [X(] " plenty of power out of the box.. gains altitude nicely.. all in all a VERY nice flyer
for 99$ rtf .. you really cant beat this thing

after the first few noobie flights the "for a beginner with a little sim time" you could easily fly it in local baseball fields football fields.. i was at a soccer field tonight flying mine.. lucky for me my fingers remembered what to do while my brain was goin.. "OH **** ... its been a while"
on low rates its very docile and easy to deal with on high rates it turns really nicely and has lots of authority "the tx has a generic 50/100 dual rate built into it.. so that makes it nice"

Hey TEX, I actually may have considered coming out for a weekend, but it won't be this one. I have some other matters to take care of on Saturday which is square in the middle of 'Road Trip' Time.
-
In other news, I checked out some of the other goodies I got with that HELI in trade.
I thought I got a basic charger... Boy, was I wrong. I got a pretty fancy Thunder Power do-it-all type charger.
Will charge everything from Lipo/A123/NiMH/PB/Etc at up to 10amps... Plus, it has a built in Cell-Balancer and monitoring circuit for up to 6s Lipo!
So I set it up tonite, I think it does a nicer job than my ICE charger for Lithium batteries. The A123 feature is just a bonus!

No worries, just thought I would toss that out there since they only come once a year. Looks like you got a Walkera heli or a clone. Honestly, that is the best for you to start on.
Good luck!

The trims could be adjusted better, but it's significantly more stable than the Walkera 22E that I had a while back. I was actually able to feel in some-measure of control with this.
It's still intact after 20 minutes of hovering, landing, and scooting around the yard, so I'm not doing too bad. Booted up the Axe CP sim tonite on Realflight to get some stick time indoors, on a free heli =)

Very similar to a larger CP Walkera... I took it out in the backyard this evening and got it off the ground without too much pain.
